While in the area we headed for a sail on the Titanic, which was a museum that had an exhibit honoring the children of the Titanic. White Star gave us boarding passes with a passenger’s name and we found out if the passenger survived this tragic event.
This small yet impactful museum was well done with children’s activities throughout the exhibit. It provided facts and artifacts from the Titanic for adults, making you feel as though you are on the actual ship.
It also include the story of the autistic boy from Iceland who was obsessed with the ill fated ocean liner, Brynjar Karl Birgisson. Through his passion and determination, he built a lego model of the Titanic when he was 10 using a blueprint he created with his grandfather. The Titanic Lego model took 11 months to complete by the now known “Lego boy”. It measures 26 foot-long, 5-foot high and 4-foot wide with 56,000 legos.
This replica is on exhibit at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge.
