Return to Massachusetts

July 15, 2023

In July we returned for a visit to Massachusetts. Our arrival was delayed because of the need to order two new front tires for the RV when we were in New York, close to the Massachusetts border.  These took several days to be ordered, and then installed.

Our first stop was Normandy Farms Campground in Foxboro, close to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.  This is a very nice campground with terrific amenities, including four swimming pools.  We were joined there by longtime close friends who were in a nearby site.  We had most of our meals together, as well as evenings around the fire pit.  The dog park was the largest that we’ve seen, and Snickers had a great time there with our friend’s German Shepard.

After a week and a half at Normandy Farms, we moved to Thousand Trails Gateway to Cape Cod for the final week.

Our time in Massachusetts was a lot of fun.  We had a chance to visit with family and friends, and it was great to see everyone again.  They wanted to hear about our travels, and we enjoyed hearing their news.  We went to a Red Sox game in Fenway Park with a group from Ocean Spray.  However the game was rained out after four innings.  Luckily we were in a private box and stayed dry.

Richard enjoyed a round of golf with friends at the Atlantic Country Club.

It was a also very busy time.  In addition to our social fun, it was packed with a lot of appointments. These included primary care doctors, dentists, skin doctors, eye doctors, veterinarians, RV inspection, and car inspection.  Plus Sian went into the Ocean Spray office several days for work, as well as working from the RV.

We look forward to our next trip to Massachusetts, but have learned that it will have to be a longer stay to see everyone and do all the things we need to do, at a more relaxed pace.

Here are a few photos taken in Plymouth, MA before we headed back on the road.
