We had fantastic sunrises and sunsets in Texas, but we were ready for some warmer weather. So we packed up our Christmas decor and started heading towards Florida for the winter.
We stayed at a sweet little resort called Fairhope Motorcoach Resort in Fairhope, AL. Our friends Chad and Sabrina came up to Fairhope to check out the cute town of and grab some lunch.
We met up with some more RV Switch Crew friends in the Gulf Shores of Alabama to celebrate New Years! I was so glad no one grabbed a video of me (Sian), toppling over backwards in slow motion attempting to sit in a swing chair with my hands full. I saved the drink! Anyway, we had a lot of fun hanging with the Switch Crew.
Our next stop was Port St. Joe, FL which is located in the panhandle of Florida. Where we finally had some warmer winter weather. Nice long walks on the beach with beautiful sunsets.
We then headed further into Florida to Champions Run in Ocala, FL. I (Sian) took all my lunch breaks from work to tackle a puzzle that was started in the clubhouse. The view from our site was amazing with the pool and Tiki Bar behind us. We had tornado warnings and watches so we were on high alert.
A highlight of January was to finally connect with dear friends from home that also headed out on the road for adventures, Dave and Lil. We met up at a KOA in Clearwater/Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor that was tight with palm trees literally touching our slides on both sides. They did have a few pull through but in general the campground is not big rig friendly. We barely fit into our back in site. We were excited to head to the Tampa RV Show for the Crew Campout on the Tampa Fairgrounds.
After the Tampa RV show we settled into one of our favorite resorts…Camp Margaritaville RV Resort & Cabins, Auburndale, FL. We hosted a Switch Crew pot luck under our Tiki Hut.. We were joined by other You Tube Content Creators and old friends came in their RV and another stayed at one of the cabins. Action packed fun at site 22!
After our first visit to Camp Margaritaville, we moved onto Canopy Oaks in Lake Wales, FL. We loved caravanning with our friends from Massachusetts. The Stephens were in the site next to us and the weekends were relaxing spending some time at the pool.
We’re looking forward to three more months of the beautiful Florida weather.
