We spent our first Christmas in Florida this year.
Christmas in Florida is very different from what we are used to, coming from New England where we have frost on the windows and could have a snowflake or two while shopping for presents, and squeezing in the time baking for gatherings with friends and family.
The glimmer of hope for Christmas Eve snowfall was not happening this year. With that said, we enjoyed wearing shorts, short sleeve shirts, and flip flops. Our tree was a little driftwood tree brought from MA with tiny white lights for a warm glow in the RV. A felt “Merry Christmas” garland made us smile, with the palm trees in the background. There were even snowmen on the waterfall just outside our windshield. It was quite magical!
We visited Richard’s sister and her family and thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. They came to Port St. Lucie a few times, we visited Jupiter Lighthouse with spectacular views and of course had Christmas dinner sharing stories.
With help from elves, our new Lectric bike was unwrapped and we received some much needed tips to ride, store and care for our new bike. It is a great add to our “RV Gear”.
We loved driving back into the resort in the evenings, as we could see the dazzling Christmas Lights greeting us home!
We drove around looking for more light displays. New Year’s Eve we drove to Fort Pierce and watched the palm tree light display coordinated to Christmas music…..that was a treat! We were surprised we did not see as much Christmas decor, as what we are used to, up north. But none the less, we loved experiencing Christmas and New Years in a new way!
