After Waco, TX we spent our Thanksgiving and Christmas with family in the Dallas Fort Worth area. We enjoyed taking our nephew’s kids to The Gaylord Texas Ice Sculpture Show. In addition to the amazing ice sculptures, there were slides and a carousel and the kids loved it. They also had a visit with Santa.
We had our first experience with scorpions here is Texas. We had a major rain storm and there were some in the middle of the road along with in the dog park (which of course peeked Snickers’ interest). We took several drives in the evenings to see the Christmas lights on the houses in the area. One street in particular was amazing. The parts of Texas we were in were colder than we were expecting. According to locals it was much colder than it normally is for November and December. There was a nice looking pool, but it wasn’t even open due to the cold weather. However we really enjoyed spending precious time with family during the holidays.
