March 17, 2023
The first part of March was all about Disney. We began the month at Thousand Trails Orlando which is just a short drive from Disney. It turned out that many members of the Switch It Up group were also there, so an impromptu pot lunch dinner was organized.
Next we moved to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground. The campground was very nice and the convenience of being on Disney property and using Disney transportation was great. We will tell you more in the next post.
To wet your appetite, here is a sampling of the food kiosk bites from the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival for 2023.
On the days that Sian had to work, Richard either enjoyed a Disney golf course, or spent the day at the water park. As always, Disney was “The Most Magical Place On Earth.”
Following our Disney adventure, we headed north to Madison RV and Golf Resort in the Florida panhandle. Sian was back to work, and Richard (you guessed it) played some golf. This campground had a huge dog park and Snickers had plenty of room to run and chase the ball. After a week in Madison, we left Florida and spent another week at Hidden Cove in Arley Alabama. There we took a day trip and hiked the trails at Dismals Canyon and Natural Bridge.
We ended the month of March in Red Bay, Alabama where the Tiffin RVs are built. At Bay Diesel annual maintenance was done on the generator, engine and chassis. We also had some “punch list” items addressed. With an RV, there is always something that needs to be fixed. During our stay in Red Bay, there was one unwelcomed bit of excitement…. A tornado warning. The sirens went off at 1am and we headed for shelter in the basement of a local church building. After an hour and a half the threat had passed our area and we went back to the RV. Being from Massachusetts, this was all new to us. This time we were lucky.
