November 2022
We wanted to make sure we completed the annual maintenance for the coach, that was not part of the chassis service we had done in MA. In early November we arrived in Red Bay, AL for our first visit to the Tiffin Service Center. It was definitely a whole new experience, with a lot of learnings.
Most overnight locations in Red Bay are parking lots which would work for a few nights, but depending on what you need done, the time of year, and the way the Tiffin Service Center operates, you are most likely there for much longer than a few nights.
At the time we visited Red Bay, the Tiffin Service Center’s on-property campground (which is basically a parking lot outside the Service Center) is only for coaches less than a year old. After seeing all the different parking lot locations in the area, we were very happy we booked a reservation at Red Bay Acres. It is the main campground in the Tiffin Service Center vicinity with level padded sites in a U shape around a pond. They also had a lounge with comfortable seating, large TV’s, free WI-FI, game area and a small cafe with table and chairs to eat.
We immediately checked in at the registration desk of the Tiffin Service Center. We gave them our checklist items and they sent someone out to our site the following day to review the list with us.
We then headed to have our coach washed, waxed and along with having the roof painted with RV Roof Armor Paint Sealant Treatment. This treatment forms a flexible, seamless membrane layer of protection on the RV roof with 90% reflectivity. It is mildew and algae resistant with built-in fungicides and prevents UV-degradation. One work of caution is to make sure it is fully dry (we were able to stay in the RV overnight indoors to allow it to fully dry, it is worth it).
There is a lounge on-site at the Tiffin Service Center, along with a Tiffin lounge in downtown center of Red Bay. I took advantage of the Red Bay Acres Campground lounge to work (Snickers was allowed in the back of the lounge) when the RV was being serviced.
Our visit to Red Bay was short and sweet, and everyone we spoke to was genuinely kind and a pleasure to meet.
Ready for more travels!
